To connect your Yahoo account to MailOptimal, you need to generate an app-specific password.

Step-by-Step Guide

STEP 1- Generate app specific password

  1. Sign in to Your Yahoo Account:

    • Log in to your Yahoo account on the Yahoo website.
  2. Go to Account Security:

    • Click on your profile picture or name, then select "Account Info."
    • On the Account Info page, click on "Account Security."
  3. Generate App Password:

    • Scroll down to the "App Passwords" section and click "Generate App Password."
  4. Name the App:

    • Enter a name for the app you want to generate the password for, such as "MailOptimal."
  5. Copy the Generated Password:

    • Yahoo will generate a unique 16-digit app password. Copy this password, as you'll need it to authenticate the third-party app.
  6. Use the App Password:

    • Use this generated app password instead of your regular Yahoo account password when connecting to MailOptimal.

STEP 2 - Connect Your Yahoo Account to MailOptimal

  1. Log in to MailOptimal:

    • Navigate to your MailOptimal dashboard.
    • Click on Add Email Account and choose the SMTP connection method.
  2. Configure SMTP Settings:

    • Email Address: Enter your Yahoo email address.
    • SMTP Username: Enter your full email address.
    • SMTP Password: Enter the app-specific password you generated.
    • SMTP Host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    • SMTP Port: 465
    • Encryption: TLS
  3. Enter IMAP Credentials and Settings:

    • IMAP Username: Enter your full email address.

    • IMAP Host: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    • IMAP Port: 993
    • Encryption: TLS

Once you've completed these steps, MailOptimal will be able to send emails using your Yahoo account.
