Step 1: Enable IMAP Access for Your Email Account

To enable IMAP for your Zoho account, follow these steps:


  1. Log in to your Zoho Mail.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Navigate to Mail Accounts and select the mailbox/email address from the left listing that you want to connect.
  4. Go to IMAP and grant access.

Step 2: Generate an App-Specific Password for Zoho Account

To generate an app-specific password for your Zoho account, follow these steps as detailed in the Zoho Help Article:


  1. Log in to Zoho Accounts.
  2. Go to My Account.
  3. From the left menu, select Security and click App Password.
  4. Click Generate New Password.
  5. In the Application-Specific Passwords pop-up, enter the App Name "MailOptimal" and click Generate.
  6. Copy the application-specific password. This password will not be displayed again.
  7. Use the app password in the inbox connection in MailOptimal.

Step 3: Connect the Zoho Account to MailOptimal

  1. Log in to MailOptimal:

    • Navigate to your MailOptimal dashboard.
    • Click on Add Email Account and choose the SMTP connection method.
  2. Configure SMTP Settings:

    • Email Address: Enter the Zoho email address you want to connect.
    • SMTP Username: Enter your full email address.
